A complete list of Data Sources is available.
Almost all of the Veteran's information for the State of Indiana was lost in a fire of the National Archives and Records Administration in 1973. The initial listing for this database was compiled from the Indiana War Memorial Archive files, a listing of the names and branch of service for over 130,000 veterans. Further information was added from the Indiana Gold Star Book, full information for all casualties of WWI and The Book of Merit, those that received citations of merit. Additional sources have been added, but much information is still needed.
If you have information on any WW1 veteran you would like to include in this project, you may submit it directly here:
Please include much information as can be verified with discharge records or family letters. Accuracy is important. The database will be continually updated as more records are located. There will be a time delay for verification purposes between your submission and updating the online database.
Your participation in this project is greatly appreciated.
